สมัยก่อนสำหรับนักเขียน การที่จะทำให้ผลงานของตัวเองเป็นที่รู้จักแพร่หลายเป็นเรื่องที่ยากลำบากนักเพราะกว่าจะได้ตีพิมพ์เป็นหนังสือ ต้องรอนานกว่าที่จะได้เซ็นสัญญา ต้องใช้การสั่งสมชื่อเสียง หรือถ้าจะลงทุนเองก็ต้องใช้เงินจำนวนมาก ซึ่งเป็นอุปสรรคที่สำคัญมากสำหรับนักเขียนหน้าใหม่ แต่สำหรับในยุคปัจจุบัน ด้วยเทคโนโลยีที่ก้าวไกล การติดต่อสื่อสารที่รวดเร็วฉับไว ทำให้นักเขียนหน้าใหม่มีโอกาสที่จะได้แสดงผลงานของตนเอง ทำในสิ่งที่ตนรักด้วยเงินลงทุนแค่ไม่มาก ถ้าเทียบกับสมัยก่อน ซึ่งทำให้นักเขียนหน้าใหม่ในยุคปัจจุบันมีโอกาสประสบความสำเร็จได้ไม่ใช่เรื่องยาก นอกจากผลดีที่เกิดขึ้นกับนักเขียนแล้ว ผู้อ่านก็ยังได้ผลพลอยได้จากเรื่องนี้ เพราะการที่มีนักเขียนหน้าใหม่เกิดขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ก็จะส่งผลให้มีหนังสือมากขึ้น การที่มีหนังสือมากยิ่งขึ้นก็จะช่วยให้ผู้อ่านมีตัวเลือกที่จะเสพและตัดสินใจที่จะซื้อได้มากยิ่งขึ้น มีประสบการณ์ในการอ่านที่ไม่ซ้ำซาก ไม่ถูกครอบงำทางความคิดโดยแคตตาล็อกหนังสือที่มีอยู่อย่างจำกัด ช่องทางการจัดจำหน่ายที่จะช่วยเพิ่มโอกาสให้กับนักเขียนได้ก็คือ eBooks หรือหนังสืออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ด้วยปัจจุบันจำนวนผู้คนที่เข้าถึง Internet มากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ราคาของอุปกรณ์สื่อสารรวมถึงเครื่องอ่าน ฯ ที่สามารถอ่าน eBooks มีราคาที่ผู้อ่านทั่วไปสามารถเอื้อมถึงได้ คงไม่แปลกถ้า eBooks จะเข้าถึงคนอ่านได้มากในวงกว้าง

Formerly, to make an author’s work widely known was very difficult in Thailand. Getting their books published would take some time since authors had to wait before their contract was finalized or their reputation established. If they wanted to self-publish their book, they would have to spend a lot of money; it was such a huge obstacle for emerging authors. However, with the current technology and high speed communication, emerging authors stand the opportunity to showcase their work. They can fulfill their dream with low investment. Compared to the old days, new faces of authors can succeed more conveniently. Not only are there several advantages for authors, readers can also benefit from the spin-off. The more new authors emerge, the more books get published. More books increase the alternatives for consumers to choose from and make a purchasing decision. Readers will have an exceptional reading experience and their thoughts will be less dominated by limited selection of books available. eBooks or (electronic book) is a distributing channel to increase more possibilities for authors. With rapidly increasing access to internet, the price of communicative devices and eReaders has become reachable for general readers in Thailand. Suffice it to say, eBooks have the capability to widely reach mass consumers throughout the Kingdom.
