เพิ่มช่องทางการอ่าน
โพลาร์ตัดสินใจแตกไลน์ธุรกิจอีบุ๊คด้วยการสร้างคลังหนังสือออนไลน์ในรูปแบบภาษาไทย และยังเพิ่มช่องทางการอ่านให้มากขึ้น คุณสุรัตน์ บัณฑิตลักษณะ กรรมการผู้จัดการบริษัท กล่าว “อีบุ๊คที่เปิดให้บริการต้องมีระบบที่มากกว่าแจกฟรี คือ สามารถจำหน่ายผ่านระบบออนไลน์ โดยหนังสือในเวอร์ชั่นอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ต้องมีราคาถูกกว่าหนังสือปกเดียวกันที่วางอยู่บนแผงหนังสือร้านค้าทั่วไป”

สิ่งที่โพลาร์วางแผนในอนาคตคือ หนังสืออิเล็กทรอนิกส์จะต้องมีทั้ง ภาพและเสียง ตัวหนังสืออ่านง่ายทำให้นักอ่านเกิดความสะดวกสบาย สำหรับเรื่องการต่อยอดด้านธุรกิจ จากการจำหน่ายหนังสือผ่านระบบออนไลน์ รวมถึง จากเดิมที่ถูกร้านหนังสือหักส่วนแบ่งยอดขายไปกว่า 50% ส่วนแบ่งรายได้ที่เป็นธรรมสำหรับสำนักพิมพ์จะเริ่มนำมาคำนวณใช้กับสำนักพิมพ์ นอกจากนี้ นักเขียนยังสามารถอัพโหลดไฟล์หนังสือที่เป็น PDF ได้ด้วยตัวเอง ผ่านทาง www.ebooks.in.th
ง่ายแสนง่าย
สำหรับผู้อ่านแล้ว หากไม่ต้องการลงทะเบียนกับเว็บ ผู้อ่านสามารถล็อกอินโดยใช้ Facebook เพื่อเลือกหนังสืออีบุ๊คและนิตยสารมาอ่าน หลายเล่มสามารถอ่านได้ฟรีและเก็บในชั้นวางส่วนตัวได้ เนื่องจากเป็นฟอร์แม็ท PDF ทำให้ขนาดไฟล์ที่ใหญ่จึงต้องใช้เวลาในการโหลด

The Porar Web Application opens doors to a digital world for online readers by launching the website ebooks.in.th, the warehouse of Thai eBooks “in your hand” and the mobile application ‘eBook’ on Apple App Store and Play Store. The application will serve as a virtual warehouse of leading eBooks in the world.
Porar has launched a Thai eBook warehouse in order to provide more reading channels. “eBooks will be more than just free giveaways. The eBook can be purchased online. eBook prices must be cheaper than the print books sold in magazine stands or bookstores” said Surat Banditraksana, Porar CEO.
He further adds that the company’s future plan is multimedia-enhanced eBook with visual and audio features. The texts displayed on the screen must be clearer for readers ‘eyes to read. In terms of his online business model, unlike the former distribution model that the bookstores will deduct 50% out of sales, the fairer royalties calculation will be brought in for Thai publishers. Authors can upload their own eBook in PDF format to the ebooks.in.th.
For readers, you do not have to register with the website. You can log in with your Facebook account to read eBooks for free. Notice, the file sizes of eBooks and digital magazines in PDF format are typically large. You will need to wait for a while until the whole book is successfully loaded onto your screen.
